Vincas Greene has served as a professor at Brenau University for 20 years in the Department of Dance and is currently full professor and chair. He also served as chair for the Department of Performing Arts. He teaches modern technique, dance appreciation, dance history, improvisation, dance composition, and repertory.
Professor Greene is a recipient of the Ann Austin Johnston Outstanding Faculty Member Award and the Teaching Excellence Award from the School of Fine Arts and Humanities. Teaching and choreographing nationally at colleges, high schools and private studios and having the honor of being hosted as a master teacher at Nanyang Normal University in China, he has choreographed multiple dance pieces and operas. Professor Greene has performed in companies in Washington, California, New York and Georgia, including Pat Catterson and Dancers, and the Carl Ratcliff Dance Theater, and also apprenticed with the Mark Morris Dance Group. He serves on the board of Dance Upon Injustice, and has written for Dance Informa.
Professor Greene has served NASD as a member of the Committee on Nominations, and as an Annual Meeting presenter and Moderator.
Professor Greene earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Dance, Physical Education and English) and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from California Institute of the Arts from Eastern Washington University.
